Pedro’s Biography

Dr. Anju Saikia Bhattacharjee, Mumbai

In 2006, July, Mumbai had faced one of the worst flood in years. Pedro was on the street with his mother and siblings.  They all swept away by flood except Pedro. He was barely 2 months old. Luckily one gentleman found him, rescued him and brought him to his home. As he was alone, Pedro became like his son. They were inseparable and shared a strong bond. After few years Pedro's human father died from heart attack. Pedro become orphan for the second time. As there was no one to look after him, he had been shifted to my shelter.  Pedro was in severe depression and he refused to accept me. It took me more than two months to bring him out of his condition.  One day he came near me, looked at me and licked my hand and finally accepted me. After that he was at my shelter for few years and died of cancer. I still cherish those years with my boy Pedro. Love you Pedro. My feeling for you…..
